Tools go hand in hand with what it means to be human, and many men use tools on a daily basis in their work or personal lives.
The wrench is one of the most basic and commonly used tools in the standard repertoire, so it makes perfect sense that men would be interested in decorating their bodies with images of the iconic implement.
It’s hard to deny that men see tools as an extension of themselves, and rightfully they should. Tools were built to help man perform tasks that he would otherwise be incapable of completing, but they emerge from the intelligence of man as a method of accomplishing such tasks. Tools are quite literally an extension of mankind since they require the knowledge of what they do and how to take advantage of them.
Tools are like keys that unlock the door to abilities that would be impossible without them. The wrench is a perfect example because without it, it would not be possible to build many of the products that man has come to take for granted. A tattoo of a wrench shows a respect for tools that comes from years of using such implements for the betterment of all mankind.
Most people who see a wrench tattoo instantly associate it with strength, rugged intelligence, and a desire to repair what is broken. These ideals speak deeply to most men, even if they have little or no experience with the tool itself.
