Such a small word to carry such a vast and limitless meaning. The word Dream is more than just a nocturnal nod to the world beyond the waking, but the contents of one’s own soul.
We are what we aspire to be and obtain; our dreams say just as much about us as our earthly achievements.
And yet it’s so easy to lose sight of our dreams as we grow older, and bear the brunt of both responsibility and decisions that have come to shape the lives we lead. So how do we remind ourselves on a daily basis to keep dreaming, and likewise summon the courage to keep going when the path feels hopeless?
When you see the word “Dream” tattooed on another’s flesh, don’t be so quick to dismiss it: that little word carries an enormous message. And why not adapt it for your own flesh and purpose? In elegant cursive or bold typewriter font, this word can be inked in any style, size, or space on the body. If you prefer to keep your dreaming to yourself, thus protecting it from possible intrusion, you may opt to wear your ink in a more subtle place, where only those closest to you can view it.
Conversely, you may see no shame in even your biggest, most seemingly impossible dreams, and wish to have their announcement emblazoned where none can mistake your intention. Or maybe that intention is simply to encourage others to dream with you, and equally loud?
Sometimes the most simple tattoos leave the longest impression, just as our greatest dreams are often the ones we’ve harbored since childhood. A Dream tattoo is a reminder to never forget what your heart desires, even when the world is dead set on breaking it.
