Subsequent sequel films have turned Jason into a fundamentally evil character, his creator Victor Miller never intended him to take on these traits. He takes issue with these later films, believing that the true essence of his character lies in his innocence. “Jason was dead from the very beginning,” Miller says, “he was a victim, not a villain.”
